Iron-Manganese Browns The iron-manganese browns have rather limited use as ceramic colors. These stains are a transparent yellow-brown in clear zinc or zincless glazes. They are currently being used to produce the yellow-brown shade for crockpots. They are not used as body stains because of their instability in vitrified bodies. Manganese Browns The manganese browns have rather limited use as ceramic colors. These browns produce a rather weak, transparent mulberry-brown shade in opacified zinc or zincless glazes.
